I am now convinced there are more bad drivers out there than good ones:
Here are some of the things that have created road rage:
- people who hits the brakes, then put on their turn signal.
- people who put on their turn signal half way through their turn.
- people who don’t know their car actually has turn signals.
- people who buy a pickup truck and become macho man.
- tailgaters, I just slow down even more.
- idiots who pull up beside you as traffic is merging on highways blocking you in.
- idiots who do the same when approaching police flashing lights or any disabled vehicle.
- red light runners.
I am sure you have your own favourites.
I had planned to go to London yesterday but rain clouds spoiled that so off to Brantford today to see if I can catch Southern Ontario Railway heading down Clarence Street. Last 3 times they have been a no-show so will give it another try today.
Wasp bites are slowly healing and the itching is less. Only woke me twice last night. They are still flying around the garbage bin even though the landlord has been spraying each night. I think they are far enough under that the bin need to be lifted to get at them but no way I am doing that. I guess 2 months from now they will be gone. 🙂
Summer is flying by as mid August arrives. Plan on making a USA trip next week to places where there lots of trains and don’t have to wait 3 hours for one.
Have a great summer day. Enjoy it as those ugly winter days are coming way too soon.
Still suffering after my 3 wasps bites with my ankles still swollen and sore. The right one is worse as it took hits both on the inside and outside. It feels like my skin is too small and itches constantly deep inside with not much relief from assorted lotions. Wakes me up at least 3 times a night and is driving me up the wall.
To add insult to injury when I was in Woodstock waiting for a train, a bee flew up my pant leg and bit me on the top of my thigh. How weird is that? Had me jumping around until I managed to kill it.
This is a bad year for wasps and bees and they seem to be everywhere. In grassy areas bees seem to be hiding in the grass and are a real danger. I hate winter but sure don’t have to worry about flying menaces.
On another subject I stopped in at the Woodstock VIA station and noticed a suspicious package up against the station. It just looked out-of-place and in today’s world you never know. If somebody forgets something it might be in the station not placed against the building. I guess we are all a bit paranoid now so called the police to report it.
Before the world went nuts I would have walked up and looked inside but not now. I know we have a number of people in the area not to mention all the home-grown loonies out there. Guess Woodstock Police did not think it was too serious as took 30 minutes to show up. I left after they showed up and when I drove by later the station was still there so guess a false alarm. I wasn’t going to call them but you start second guessing yourself and wonder if you did not call and something did happen, how would you feel?
Another sunny day so off to London to see if anything new at CN or CP.
Have a great day and bee aware. :-).
Great day to be alive, hope there are many more ahead. Did some train chasing then a relaxing day working on some photo editing.
Managed to get myself stung again by the wasp nest in our garbage bin. I put out some chicken bones as they were beginning to smell and carefully opened the lid and did not see any of the nasty wasps. I decided, not a good idea, to move the bin to see if any were still around as I had been spraying the entrance for three days. Well I must have pissed them off as a wave of wasps came flying out and took aim on me. I had the wasp spray so blasted them the best I could as I was running for my life. Only one managed to get me on the ankle so that is 3 times in a week. I called the landlord and he told me to stay away and he will get “the guy” to come and take care of them. Not sure how a small creature like that can inflict so much pain.
The two I got last week, also on my ankles are healed but itch like crazy and wake me in the middle of the night. The new one is throbbing but some first aid spray seems to help.
Needless to say I will be staying away until I get the all clear.
Take care and get out and enjoy this weather.
Been a while since I wrote anything on this page as been busy doing stuff and have not noticed how fast this summer seems to be flying by. Here it is the middle of August and the end of summer is not too far off.
I am not sure if it is me or are people are just under too much stress that they are getting way too sensitive. It seems these days if you disagree with somebody they immediately get defensive and normal conversation seems to stop.
I have always have been one to voice my opinion but now sometimes think twice about commenting as the slings and arrows seem to start right away.
Of course those confrontations lets me decide whether that person will remain on my Christmas card list.
New day, new chance to piss somebody off.
Isn’t life grand.
