Well I am back with another day and another adventure well sort of.

Yesterday started out just fine with the Rogers tech here to fix an issue with my Internet. He found the problem quickly and had it fixed and was gone in about 30 minutes. He even gave me his personal phone number if I have any more issues which was a real surprise. I was impressed.

Sunny day so the plan was to go to CN Lihou just east of Ingersoll where the crossovers are and use the drone to shoot directly from above as the train changed from one track to another.

Stopped and got a coffee and headed to Lihou. I check ATCS and saw that a eastbound train was in London so headed to Lihou. Got the video camera out and the drone ready to fly. I looked at the crossovers and they were aligned to change the train from the south to the north track. Perfect. I tried to check ATCS to see where the train was but nothing so was now going to have to guess when it would be here and launch the drone. I checked the ATCS before I left home so could not figure why I could not access it until I realized there was no cell service this morning here.

Got everything set up and waited and try to hear the dectector at Dorchester. Of course the day was going to take a down turn within minutes. I have irritable bowel syndrome so when it acts up it means having to go to the bathroom usually fairly quickly. I was in the country so no washrooms here and knew the train was close.

Held out as long as I could and headed to the bushes to do my business as quick as I could. Of course as I returned the train was fast approaching so launched the drone just in time and started the vidoe camera. Managed to get video from both but not what I wanted.

Stomach still felt upset and was disappointed I never got the shot so headed home. Laid down and had a nap but was woken by Ontario Southland Railway going by with what seemed a long train.

Figured I could catch them in Woodstock so rushed downstairs and raced to Woodstock and the closer I got wondered why I did not see them. Arrived at the diamond in Woodstock realized they were heading to Ingersoll and not Woodstock so drove in the wrong direction. Had enough so drove home and was going to call it quits for the day.

When I arrived and was packing up I realized my railroad scanner was still sitting on the ground back at Lihou. Jumped back in the car and drove back the 7 miles hoping it was still there. It is a country road and not much traffic so I was in luck it was still there.

Checked my phone and saw two westbound were heading my way and very close. As I pulled out the video camera the passenger train blew by and I shot video from besdie the car. I thought another westbound was coming and the crossovers changed to switch the train from the north to the South. Luck had come back so set up and knew the train was close. No sign of it then looked behind me and there it was, it was an eastbound CN 122 so had only seconds to switch direction start the drone launch it and set up the video camera.

Another just in time video but not what I wanted.

Two trains, both times crossovers aligned properly, trains on the right track because of the Sun and small things went wrong and I blew both shots.

Oh well I can laugh at it now as ended up with 3 trains and time to move on to the next so called adventure.

Never did find Ontario Southland.

See you trackside.
